Why Do not Travel to Tibet When Catching a Cold
High altitude sickness is a major difficulties of Tibet travel. Common symptoms of altitude sickness include: headaches, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, severe lack of appetite, burning, dizziness, fatigue and increased urination. Due to the lack of oxygen, other symptoms may occur in certain individuals including the inability to sleep, giddiness, lips and fingertips turning bluish purple, drowsiness and other symptoms. Due to the dry atmosphere, others might experience nosebleeds, rough skin, chapped lips or (in more serious cases) blood clots. So before visiting Tibet, it’s advisable to have a body check-up or have your doctor’s advice.
Remember not to catch a cold before Tibet travel, it adds the possibility of having altitude sickness, and might threat your life.When catching a cold, inflammation will appear on lung and trachea, and at this time the human body’s resistance is poor, with the less oxygen and dry air. The ordinary cold will become pneumonia, pulmonary edema or bronchitis. Cure your cold and then go to Tibet.
If you are already in Tibet, and you have severe cold, edema, pulmonary edema, headache and other symptoms, please contact the tour guide and seek medical advice immediately. In some occasions, it’s may difficult to find a doctor, so we advise you to put some cold medications in your bags.
