Lhari County Festivals and Activities
Most Tibetan festivals are full of the color of religion. In addition to annual large-scale worship rituals to Buddha and Buddhist masters, Tibetan people will also hold a series of festivities associated with religious life and agricultural production consisting of religious festivals and folk ones. There are almost a hundred festivals in a year, some of which even last for ten days.
Lhari Folk Customs
Baga Culture: "Baga" is the black tent, where the herdsman has lived in a tent under the setting sun since ancient times.The herdsman ride their horses and drive the yak back to his living room meaning the black tent.
Niwu Peach Flower Festival: In April, Niwu Township of Lhari County would be surrounded by snow mountains, valleys, green vegetation and peach blossoms along the river. People would gather in the Niwu Township for appreciating the peach blossom, folk customs, taste of food, taste of fragrant Tibetan pigs.
