How to Protect Your Skin When You Travel to Tibet
Tibet climate belongs to the typical high-altitude plateau climate. It’s much different in different areas in Tibet and temperatures vary greatly within a single day. The main features of Tibet’s climate is cold and dry, with strong sunshine, large day and night temperature difference. So it’s very important to protect your skin from strong ultraviolet and wind which will make your skin damaged and aging. Here we give you some important tips to protect your skin while traveling in Tibet.
1. Make You Skin Hydrated and Moisturized
Moisturizing your skin is important at all times, especially in Tibet. The air, especially in Lhasa, being completely clean and moisture free, especially during summers and winters, the radiation of sun increases manifolds. We have suggest you to drink enough water to stay hydrated. While it also applies to your skin. In Tibet, you can usually see the local women wrap their faces who are experts at skin care. In this way, you can feel better at these windy days especially in the days of dust storms. 3. Protect from the Sun
As we know, Tibet is located on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, the highest plateau in the world. The increased radiation of sun increases the amount of UV radiation causing major skin problems including sunburns, even skin cancer. The higher the altitude, the higher the index of UV radiation. As majority of the region of Tibet is covered with snow, UV radiation increases manifolds. So dressed in long dresses with full sleeves and full length. The full sleeves and length also protects the arms from the exposure to the sun. Avoid dark colours due to its more absorbility of more sunlight and UV radiation. Use big straw hats or umbrellas to keep your skin in the shadow of sunshine. Use a sunscreen with a suitable PH value and apply it frequently after certain interval of time. Also use lip balms having SPF. Use goggles or sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. If sunburn happens, apply after-sun repair immediately.
