Jiuzhaigou Valley partially reopens on March 8 after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake.

Jiuzhaigou Valley partially reopens to the public from March 8th, 2018 to March 7th, 2019. According to Jiuzhaigou’s Tourism Administrative Bureau, the restoration work will be finished in three years gradually, with 11.8 billion yuan (1.8 billion U.S. dollars) investment into the restoration work.

According to official source, the number of daily tourists is capped at 2000. Only tour groups are acceptable. The tickets price reduces to 40 yuan ($6.30) per person from Mar.8 to Mar.31 and Nov.16 to Dec.31. After March the admission fee will increase to 110 yuan between April and Mid-November. The sightseeing vehicle will cost visitors 90 yuan per person. Tickets are going to be sold only online with real-name registration. All tourists need insurance coverage. The daily opening time is form 8 am to 5 pm.

The open area includes Mirror Lake, Shuzheng Lakes, Long Lake, Double Dragon Waterfall, Five-Color Lake and Zharu Temple. The new attraction was created by earthquake that fused the Sparkling Lake with the Double Dragon Lake (the ShuangLonghai Waterfall). The famous spot Nuorilang Waterfall that suffered extensive damage during earthquake is now being restored.
