Geographical Location
Shigatse (日喀则) is located in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China, in the southern part of Tibet. It is the second-largest city in the region, serving as the administrative center of Shigatse Prefecture.
Shigatse lies at the foot of the Himalayas, and it is an important historical, cultural, and religious hub in Tibet. The city is situated along the Yarlung Tsangpo River (also known as the Brahmaputra River), making it a crucial point for trade and travel.
