Pasuo Monastery in Samzhubzê District, Shigatse
Pasuo Monastery is the key cultural relic protection unit of the Tibet autonomous region. It is located at Pasuo village(帕索村) of Lian Town(联乡) in Samzhubzê District, Shigatse, south of the 318 national road. It is the birthplace of the 4th Panchen(四世班禅). It is belonging to Gelu sect(格鲁派), which was founded by Pasuo Queji Jianzan(帕索·确吉坚赞) in 1300 AD. The present temple area is 856.7 square meters. There is famous “Lian Gamu(联嘎姆)” tsamba in the township, which is made by the water mill created during the 4th Panchen period.
