About Suobu Karst Cave in Namling County, Shigatse
Suobu Karst Cave is located in Jiacuo Village, Namling County. It has more than 1300 years history and was excavated by the third Gamaba(噶玛巴). The cave has been dug out about 200 meters long; the rocks in the cave are grotesque, forming birds and animal shapes naturally. There are pagodas, stone pillars, icicle, skylights and naturally formed handprints and footprints of Lianhuasheng master(莲花生大师). There is a holy water basin formed by screes. It is said that water in this basin never changed its level no mater people drink it or not. Suobu Karst Cave is divided into North and south; Karst cave is located in the north main peak and Nanshan is divided into two scenic spots. In the south of Nanshan is carving of Eighty Luo Han looked at the cave chanting scene. Tourists can appreciate lotus’ blooming in the east of cave. Suobu Karst Cave has long history and beautiful scenery, attracting a large number of visitors come here for sightseeing and making pilgrimage.
Attraction Transportation:
Visitors can take long-distance bus or choose self-driving from Namling County seat to Jiacuo Village. Please pay attention to weather conditions. In the rainy season (July & August), cars often get struck in the mud and delays happen frequently.
