Dajiling Township (达吉岭乡) is located in the central part of Saga County (萨嘎县), Shigatse (日喀则市), Tibet Autonomous Region (西藏自治区), China. The township lies 80 kilometers from the county seat and covers an area of 1,119.73 km². Dajiling Township consists of five administrative villages: Pabudon, Rega, Sarla, Ruga, and Saga (萨嘎村). The region is characterized by a plateau climate, with its name derived from the Tibetan language, meaning “a place of prosperity and abundance.”

History and Development
Dajiling Township was first established in 1960 and became Dajiling District (达吉岭区) in 1961. In 1988, the township was formed by merging the original Dajiling Township with Gaxue Township (嘎学乡). The township has witnessed substantial improvements, including a notable infrastructure development project in 2024, such as a community-building initiative in Sagala Village (萨嘎村) and Dazi Village (达孜村), with investments totaling 40 million RMB.
In 2024, the township observed the Million Serfs Emancipation Day (百万农奴解放纪念日) with flag-raising ceremonies and red song competitions, reflecting the community’s cultural vitality.
Economy and Livelihood
The primary economic activity in Dajiling Township is livestock farming, with herds of yak, sheep, and goats grazing on the region’s vast plateaus. In 2023, Sarla Village (萨拉村) cooperative distributed 76,230 RMB in dividends to benefit 59 local herders. Furthermore, significant infrastructure investments in 2024, such as road construction and livestock facilities, have improved the living standards and economic potential for the locals.
