Tibetan Region Medicine Factory
Tibet Autonomous Region Tibetan Medicine Factory (西藏自治区藏药厂) has its origins in 1916, when the Lhasa Menzi Kang (拉萨门孜康) was founded as a Tibetan medicine production enterprise. Initially part of the Tibetan Hospital (藏医院) in Lhasa, it was later restructured in 2012 into Tibet Ganlu Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd. (西藏甘露藏药股份有限公司). The factory inherits the traditional Budala Palace (布达拉宫) royal secret production techniques and the Medicine King Mountain (药王山) medicinal traditions, and produces over 54 national-level Tibetan medicines (国药准字号藏药), covering areas like cardiovascular health, digestive systems, and more.
In 2001, it became the first Tibetan medicine enterprise in Tibet to pass GMP certification (Good Manufacturing Practice), and by 2020, the factory’s revenue exceeded 220 million RMB (约2.2亿元). The Ganlu (甘露) brand is recognized as a famous Chinese trademark (中国驰名商标).
