KambaLa Mountain Pass in Shannan
Along the way you cross the Kamba la (4794m) and the Karo la pass (5010m), both grant spectacular views. After the Kamba la you come to Yamdrok tso, also known as the Turquoise Lake. You’ll want to have your camera ready. The climb to the top of the pass from the river valley is over 1000m. Gampa-la Pass leads over the mountains to Yamdrok-tso Lake, the road is paved and in good condition.
With the wonderful view of Yamzho Yumco Lake, Kamba-La Mountain or Gangbala Mountain(岗巴拉山口 in Chinese) is located between Nagarze County(卡子县) and Gonggar County(贡嘎县) in Shannan. Bala Mountain is located between Langkazi County and Gongga County in Shannan region of Tibet. It is 5030 meters above sea level and 4990 meters (as can be seen from the elevation of the mountain pass). After the airport road to Qushui County branch, along the gravel road, and then began to cross the Gangbala Mountain, over the mountain, the road is very dangerous, one cliff, the other is the mountains. Since the new road from Lhasa to Xigaze was built, the road has rarely been used as a passenger line, with only a few tourist buses being used for tourists to visit the Yamzho Yumco.
站在岗巴拉山上可以很好的观赏羊湖，很多西藏旅游者就在此观赏羊湖之后再返回拉萨，从另一条路前往日喀则，因为从这里到江孜的全程路均是碎石路，一般车辆均不愿意走这条路，对车辆的磨损比较大。
岗巴拉山口海拔4990米，像西藏所有著名的山口一样，有着巨大的玛尼堆，扯着重重叠叠的风马旗（即彩色经幡），在风中呼啦啦地飘扬。这里是俯瞰羊卓雍湖的最佳地点：山顶上有云层覆盖，在湖面投下巨大的不规则身影。蔚蓝的天空与湖水相映。纯净的湖水在阳光下呈现深浅不同的蓝色：浅蓝、深蓝、孔雀蓝，还有一些是绿色的。平静的湖面皱起鱼鳞般的细小波浪，那一汪碧水是如此地深邃，夺人魂魄。湖南岸边小块不规则的农田里，青绿的是小麦，金黄的是菜花，更增添湖光山色。如果你运气好，小雨过后，甚至能看到一边乌云密布，一边挂着彩虹，还有一边霞光灿烂的奇景。
