Mount Everestis the main peak of Himalayas, which is located in the boundary between China and Nepal with its north slope in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its south slope in Nepal. Because Mount Everest is high and cold, and it is far from the county seat of Tingri County, there are few festivals and activities celebrated there. Tibetan New Year
Tibetan New Year is the Tibetan people's traditional festival, and the most solemn festival. Shigatse not only celebrates the Farmers' Year on December 1 in Tibetan Calendar, but also the Tibetan New Year on January 1 in Tibetan calendar. Tibetan New Year will be celebrated from Mon, Feb 24, 2020 to Wed, Feb 26, 2020.
Siyang Festival
During the Siyang Festival, Tibetans hold various activities including horse racing, banquet, singing and dancing, and so forth, to express their wish for good harvest. The Siyang Festival comes every year before the planting season of highland barley.

Mountain Climbing
As the pilgrimage site for mountaineering enthusiasts from all around the world, many professional or non-professional mountaineers succeeded in climbing to the top of Mount Everest up to now. Although climbing such a high peak will face many difficulties and challenges, even so, thousands of climbers go to Mount Everest every year to conquer the world’s highest peak.
Luoxie Dance(洛谐)
"Luoxie" means the song and dance of the south, which is the inherent traditional song and dance of Tingri county. Up to now, it is still a main form of singing and dancing for the people of Tingri to enjoy themselves in the festival and daily production life. Although the whole Himalayan mountains have undergone thousands of years of wind and rain changes, but "Luoxie" in Tingri county has always maintained the original ecological art style, under the pull of the theme of The Times, it is displaying its endless charm. Because of its unique local characteristics and different forms of artistic expression, Luoxie is different from today's "Qiangxie" of Ngamring County and "Duixie" of Lhatse county in terms of tunes, lyrics, musical instruments and other aspects. At the foot of Mount Qomolangma, the highest peak in the world, it has been continuously continued and developed, becoming a blooming cuckoo in the treasure house of the world's intangible cultural heritage.
Qiangmu Dance
On April 15 of the Tibetan calendar, the weather is particularly refreshing. It is the day that Sakyamuni's birthday is commemorated, while "Qiangmu dance" will be held in the following day. On that day, many tents are put up outside the monastery, the villagers who came to see the Qiangmu dance staying here one day in advance. The new green prayer flags float in the wind outside the Rongbuk monastery, and colorful flags, prayer flags and decorations are hung in the monastery everywhere. Most of the Tibetans who came to watch bring buttered tea and Zanba. When the Qiangmu dance starts, the monks with the yellow cockscomb cap pull out the prelude, stand in the courtyard and strike the cymbals to meet one after another of the monks who came down the stairs. With the exception of khenpo, they appear according to the age.
Qomolangma Hiking Festival
Themed “walk across the Himalayas, enjoy sports tourism”, the Qomolangma hiking festival is held in Mt. Qomolangma Scenic Spot around Mount Everest, Tibet Autonomous Region. The trekking route is at Gamagou Valley, the east slope of Mt.Qomolangma and the most classical hiking route at Mount Everest.

There are a series of interesting, interactive, and artistic events about cultural tourism that revolve around Shigatse's culture and history. At the opening ceremony, people will be able to appreciate traditional ethnic Tibetan fine arts as well as special song and dance performances.
