Zhangmu Town Dining
Zhangmu is a busy town, don't worry to find the restaurants. Western, Chinese, Tibetan and Nepali cuisine could be found. Many restaurants could make lunch boxes, which could be eaten on the long ride to Kathmandu. And the food we are going to recommend are as follows：
‣What to Eat
● Gyurma(血肠)
Gyurma is a type of blood sausage made with yak or sheep’s blood and other spice. I bet you you can rarely find this kind of food in elsewhere of China.
● Thukpa（汤面）
Thukpa is a kind of noodle soup, usually served with mutton or yak meat with some vegetables.
● Tingmo（馍馍）
Tingmo is a type of steamed bun or bread. It is usually served along with other foods but sometimes it is stuffed with meat or cheese. This is a good choice to stow your belly when you are very hungry.
● Tsam-thuk（特色汤）
A soup made with cheeses, tsampa, and either yak or sheep stock.
● Tsampa（糌粑）
Tsampa is known as the national food of Tibet. Tibetan people may have this everyday. It is usually made of ground barley flour and often mixed with butter or yak butter tea.
‣What to Drink
● High-land barley wine (高地大麦酒)
This is a kind of wine that made from high-land barley, tasting delicious and a little bit spicy. Almost every family in this area can brew this kind of wine, you can not miss the chance to taste the local special wine.
● Yogurt(酸奶)
This kind of yogurt is different from the yogurt sold in the convenient store. One who fails to taste the yogurt is not a guy who has been to Tibetan.
● Milk tea（奶茶）
We tend to say the Barkhor Street is the heartland of Lhasa, if so, we could say that sweet tea is the blood vessel maintaining the life of Tibet. It is hard to imagine how many locals run a sweet tea store along the Barkhor Street, so, you can not miss the chance to have a cup of sweet tea.
● Chong（青稞酒）
A type of beer is made from barley. It is served either at room temperature or very hot.
● Milk of yak（牦牛牛奶）
The milk of yak is totally different from the milk of cow, and this kind of milk is popular among tourists who travel to Tibet.
