Xian-Lhasa Trains

Travel between Xian and Lhasa by train is available for tourists, the distance between them is about 2741 km. Being one of the old capital of China with 13 dynasties, Xian is the most amazing ancient capital city of China. After the memorable Xian tour, tourists can fly to three cities of Tibet directly including Lhasa, Shigatse and Nyingchi. It takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes to Lhasa, 4 hours and 10 minutes to Shigatse, 2 hours and 50 minutes to Nyingchi. There are 7-12 direct flights departing from Xian Airport to Lhasa everyday, one to Shigatse(only available on every Thursday and Sunday) and two to Nyingchi.

Xian – Lhasa Train Schedules

Besides, tourists can take the normal speed train from Xian to Lhasa, which will take about 30-32 hours. The below train Z165 is available everyday, while the other one Z265 departs every other day. Still, we recommend you to take the flight for the time saving.
