About Xuexiongma Hot Spring in Dinggyê County, Shigatse

Xuexiongma Hot Spring, also called Jiuyan Spring(九眼泉), is located in Xuexiongma Village of Chentang Town. Different from other hot springs in Tibet, it flows from a verdant forest and naturally divides into nine by mountain shape. They are flowing into the nine small holes. Each hole just accommodates one person, hence its name, “Jiuyan Springs”. According to legend,  the god couldn’t bear to see the suffering of people in the world, so he give these hot springs for them. He appears in their dream and told them the hot spring can cure all the diseases. Then people live here are no longer suffering from disease. Spring bath not only can make muscle, join loose, eliminate fatigue; it also dilates blood vessels, promotes blood circulation, and speeds up the body’s metabolism. Many people come to Xuexiongma Hot Spring enjoy a bath and stay a night. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, they can enjoy the gift of nature and release their souls.
