Discover the Ancient Temple in Daocheng – Gongga Langjiling Monastery
Located in the southern part of Daocheng, Gongga Langjiling Monastery is 3,335 meters above sea level. In front of the temple is Red-soil River, and the back stands the Axi Mountain. Besides, the environment there is really pleasant. Built in Ming Chongzhen 15th years (1642 AD), the Monastery has more than 300 monks living there. In the monastery, there is a precious Buddha which has a long history of over 300 years.
The monastery is not very big, but visitors can feel the solemn atmosphere when entering the monastery. Historically, before worshiping the mountain, Tibetans would always go to the front of the Gongga Langjiling Monastery to burn incense and worship Buddha. In this case, they can pray that God bless them safe and smoothly when passing the dangerous mountains. Moreover, the monastery has carried the hope and prays of ten million people, and it is the real holy temple in people’s hearts.
