Zeng Monastery is located at the waist of the Langqin Jinri Shenshan Mountain(朗钦紧日神山) in Zeng Village(增村) of Xiqin Township(锡钦乡), 4800 meters above sea level, 42 kilometers away from the county seat with a convenient transportation. It was founded in 660 AD, later repaired by Xirewei(西热卫), which is a Ningma Sect.
The main characters are hidden in the history, such as, Zangba Xirao(藏巴西绕), Zangba Dayishi(藏巴大译师), and Quji Zangba Qinbu(曲吉藏巴钦布). In its religious thriving time there are over 1500 monks, it is one of the largest and earliest missionary Tibetan Buddhism temple. The main cultural relics include the Long-Lived Buddha(长寿大佛), the Eight Characters(八字经书), the Conch(法螺), the long history of Thangka, the Murals and other rare relics.

We can take a shuttle bus from Shigatse to Lhatse County, then transfer a local mini bus to Zeng Monastery.
