About Zongdui Cave Cliff Carving
Zongdui Cave Cliff Carving art gallery（宗堆山洞摩崖石刻艺术组图）was photographed in Jiarong Village（加荣村）, Jiangrang Township（江让乡）, Coqen County（措勤县）, Ngari Prefecture（阿里地区）, Tibet Autonomous Region on October 4th, 2015. The cave is located beside Jiangrang Township highway, 50 kilometers away from the county seat with an altitude of 4760 meters. The traffic here is very convenient, and the asphalt have access to the foot of the mountain.
This cave has footprints, palm prints and other designs, words and other natural or art of cliff art, with extremely high research and exploration value, which attracts people inside and outside the area to solve this mystery. According to the local herdsmen, long time ago, padmasambhava master（莲花生大师）once practiced here in this cave, studying Buddhism, and leaving his footprints and palmprints, so the local people made of Zongdui Mountain（宗堆山）as sacred Mountain. They worship the hole and pray sacrifice for the padmasambhava master, blessing for the happy life and safe health of their family. At present, it has been opened as a tourist destination, and during the National Day, millions of visitors from both regions and abroad traveling here to have a pilgrim trip. It is also a famous tourist attraction in Coqen County.
Attraction Transportation
Naqu District 206 line runs through the Coqen County. There are Xinjiang Tibet highway in the south and the District Lane 301 line in the north. The highway traffic system is perfect; visitors can choose self-driving tour in Coqen County. There are 724.2 km from Ngari to Coqen County and it will spend 17 hours for driving. Tourist can travel to Ngari by air firstly and then transfer to Coqen County by long-distance bus, which is the major choice. .
