About Gubu Snow Mountain
Gubu Snow Mountain（谷布神山）, which is the top of the 18 sacred mountains in the Kham District, is located at the junction of Karub District（康区）, Chamdo Prefecture（昌都市）, Tibet Autonomous Region and Ruyi Township（如意乡）, 40 kilometers away from the county seat. The mountain is one of the highest peaks near Chamdo Prefecture, about 5,400 meters above sea level. Reaching the top of the mountain, visitors can see that the surrounding mountains are in full view. The mountain is called “Zhajiguo Wuqiongpu”（匝吉果乌琼普）, meaning the place where roc has passed. The valley is majestic, the peaks are protruding, and the top of the mountain is exposed limestone. Due to the high altitude, the plateau karst landforms have been exposed, such as the stone shoots, stone pillars and karst caves. Naining Cave（乃宁洞）, which is located halfway up the valley, is the largest and most famous cave in the mountain. It is said that Padma Sambhava（莲花生大师）has practiced here once. There are many pagodas and statues at the entrance of the cave. Although the hole is small, it is a cavern with a huge shape inside, which can hold at least two or three thousand people. It is the largest hole in the whole area. There is a holy lake of the three living Buddha in the middle of rock mountain of Chamdo Prefecture. Although it is a lake, it is less than 10 square meters and less than 0.5 square meters. At such high altitudes, it is a spectacle of the valley that sees the lake.
Resources of Gubu Snow Mountain
The front elevation of Gubu Snow Mountain is 4500 meters, and below the mountain, there is the original forest. The vegetation is well protected, the resources are rich, and there are more than 600 kinds of famous medicinal herbs, more than 30 species of wild animals.
Within the mountain, there are unique and mysterious water-eroded caves which is in possession of the 1500 – year – old figures of Buddha, scripture, and natural medicine bags, stone eagles, stone cats, fossil shells, conch, etc. The sacred mountain gave birth to the fountain of god. There are ten mountain springs, which are said to cleanse the soul.
Attraction Transportation
By Air
Chamdo Bangdad Airport, situated in Chengdu and at an altitude of 4300 m above sea level is the highest airport in the world. It has now started takes traffic from Lhasa airport. Qamdo town is around 128 km away from here that you can travel by road.
By Road
Road transportation is more preferred than air travel. Buses to all the major cities of Tibet originate from here. There is also a connection to cities of China and Nepal.

Taxis are the major mode of transport in the city. You can also avail the services of pedi-cabs that you might more suitable to explore the city.
