Sere Zhude Monastery is located in Yalong Village of Bainang County. It belongs to Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism is the form of Buddhist Vajrayana doctrine and institutions named after the lands of Tibet, but also found in the regions surrounding the Himalayas and much of Central Asia. Sere Zhude Monastery is one of the most famous monasteries in Bainang county. It was founded in 892 and has a long history. Because of its large scale and history, there have been many famous research tasks here. There are many culture relics collected in this monastery such as inlaid copper triton(嵌铜法螺) and Natural Bright Statue(天然朗色石像). Sere Zhude Monastery was destroyed during the “Cultural Revolution”. In 1986, approved by Nainang County government, it can be rebuilt and become the most popular monastery in Bainang County.
