Dali Mountain is located at Luobu Qiongzi Village(罗布穷孜村) of Luojiang Town(洛江镇) in Bainang County, only with an elevation of 4035 meters, it is not a high mountain. Its hilltop is quite narrow, it is just a pillar of stone, like a stalactite, or a spear, pointing at the vast dome of the sky. With its likeness of a person’s finger, local people also called it as “one finger mountain(一指山)” .
Despite the low altitude and rare description of the mountain, it has a history recognized officially. According to historical records, before the Tubo Dynasty(吐蕃王朝) ruled Tibet, there was a tribe called “white wood(白木)” in the south of the Nianchu River(年楚河). The palace of “white wood” tribe was located at the top of mount Dali, which is called “the white wooden palace(白木宫)”.
