About Naijiaqiemu Cave Temple
Naijiaqiemu Grottoes Temple is located at Najia Village(纳加村) Changlong Township(昌龙乡) in Kamba County. Changlong Township is adjacent to Xijinguo(锡金国), 5000 meters above sea level, with mountains on both sides of north and south. There is a vast meadow in the middle, and Kuqu Zangbu River(苦曲藏布河) is flowing north of the meadow. Naijiaqiemu Grottoes Temple is located in the cliff of a conglomerate hill on the shore of the river, there are five caves, the mouth of the cave is all facing south, about more than ten meters high from the ground, according to the order from west to east, these five caves numbered from K1 – K5.
Inside Naijiaqiemu Cave Temple
On the front wall is a golden statue of the Tathagata Buddha(大日如来佛). On the north side of the east wall is the statue of the Double Elephant Xumi Buddha(双象须弥座).
On the south side of the east wall is a statue of the Double Horse Xumi Buddha(双马须弥座).On the south side of the west wall is a statue of the Double Peacock Xumi Buddha(双孔雀须弥座).Naijiaqiemu Cave Temple is the second cave temple found in Tibet after the Chalalufu Cave Temple(查拉路甫石窟寺) found in Lhasa. The founding further expanded the range of grotto temple site in our country, enriched the content of the grotto art in Tibet.
