Brief Introduction

Tibet is the birthplace of the Tibetan people. As early as in the late Paleolithic Age, the people were found everywhere on this Tibet Plateau. In the seventh century, the King Songtsan Gambo united Tibet and established the Tubo kingdom. Through the marriage relations with the Tang Dynasty, he established close relations between the Tibetan and Han ethnic peoples. In the mid-13th century, Tibet become an administrative area under the Yuan Dynasty. Since then Tibet has been demonstrated in the map of China. In 1965 the Tibet Autonomous Region was officially founded according to the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China. Since then the central government has stipulated a series of special policies and adopted flexible measures to manage the region. As a result, the region’s social economy has developed rapidly and the living standard of the local people has increased steadily.

Located in the west of the Central and isolated on the remote Himalayan Plateau, Tibet is every traveler’s dream. It attracts millions of travelers each year to explore its unique Tibetan culture, and the pure and magnificent scenery.  There are so many Buddhist buildings in Tibet due to Tibetans’ strong culture of faith. Tibet Autonomous Region is consisted of 7 prefectures – Lhasa, Shigatse, Shannan, Ngari , Nagchu, Nyingchi, Qamdo. Among the 7 prefectures, Lhasa, Shigatse and Nyingchi are the most popular among travelers.
