Flights to Tibet
Tibet travel permit is required for entering Lhasa and travelling around Tibet, make sure you got the permit before you check in to your flight, or you will not be allowed to board the plane. There are many domestic flights connecting Tibet with Chengdu, Xian, Xining, Beijing, Chongqing, Kunming, etc and only one direct international flight to Katmandu. Taking a flight to Tibet has become the mostly chosen option for travelers because it is much faster and convenient. Here we introduce you the flight information one airport by another.

2. Flights to Shigatse
There are direct flights connecting Shigatse airport with Xi ‘an, Chengdu and Chongqing. There are daily flights from Chengdu operated by Tibet Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Air China, while only available from Xian on every Thursday and Sunday operated by China Eastern Airlines, from Chongqing on a week basis except for Saturday by West Airlines.
3. Flights to Nyingchi
Nyingchi Mainling airport has direct flights to and fro Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Beijing (via stopover) and Xi ‘an. There are daily flights from Chengdu operated by Air China, Sichuan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Tibet Airlines, from Chongqing operated by Tibet Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Sichuan Airlines, and from Xian operated by Tibet Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Shandong Airlines. While airplanes that fly from Guangzhou are available on every Monday and Friday.
4. Flights to Chamdo
Chamdo Bangda Airport has direct flights to and from Chengdu and Chongqing. 2-5 flights fly from Chengdu everyday operated by Air China, Tibet Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines; 3 flights fly from Chongqing everyday operated by Air China, Tibet Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.
4. Flights to Ngari
Apart from Lhasa, tourists can only take the direct flight without stop to Ngari airport from Kashgar on every Tuesday and Friday. Sometimes, one flight from Urumchi to Ngari airport with a stop at Kashgar is available.
