How to Get to Zhangmu from Lhasa
This article is about the transportation between Zhangmu and Lhasa. Zhangmu is a customs town and port of entry located in Nyalam County on the Nepal-China border, just uphill and across the Bhote Koshi River from the Nepalese town of Kodari. At 2,300 metres (7,500 ft) above sea level, Zhangmu has mild and humid subtropical climate, which is a rarity for Tibet.
How to Get to Zhangmu from Lhasa?
There are two ways to get to Zhangmu from Lhasa which are by bus and private car rental.
By Bus
There are several buses departing from Lhasa Beijiao Bus Station to Zhangmu on Wed. and Sat. It departs at 9:00 a.m. It takes about 23 hours with a cost of CNY 261.
By Private Car Rental
You can chose to get there by private car rental. The whole distance is about 738.3 km. You might spend 18 hours for driving.
