About Zhebulin Monastery in Nedong District, Shannan
Zhebulin Monastery is located in the south of Nedong District, Shannan. It is 200 meters away from Gedan Quguolin(噶丹曲果林). It covers an area of 1012.5 square meres and the main buildings consist of main hall and Sengshe. The main hall has two layers and it’s 17.3 meters from east to the west, 16.6 meters from the north to the south. The first layer is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha’s life-size statue in eight years old(弥勒佛8岁等身像) and other Buddha such as Duoji Sangba(多吉桑巴), Shakya Muni(释迦牟尼), Saban(萨班) and so on. Among them, Tara and Tuba Azhama statue were most respected by Buddhists. Zhebulin Monastery belongs to the Yellow Sect in Tibetan Buddhism. It has long history and it was built by Suolang Jiangcai(索朗降才). In the second layer, the spacious room in the west is rest room for Dalai Lama and the east is for head lama. The architectural style of Zhebulin Monastery is Sakya style(萨迦派) and these buildings had been basically destroyed by the beginning of the twentieth Century. Then it was rebuilt in 1940.

Visitors can take long-distance bus or choose self-driving. Please pay attention to weather conditions. In the rainy season (July & August), cars often get struck in the mud and delays happen frequently.
