Awang Danda (阿旺旦达) is a key inheritor of the Tibetan Costume Tradition (藏族服饰) from Comai County (措美县), Shannan, Tibet. Born in October 1970 in Comai County, he is recognized as a national representative inheritor of the Tibetan Costume intangible cultural heritage. Awang began his journey in costume craftsmanship at the age of 14, learning the intricate techniques of Zaza (扎扎) costume tailoring from his father.
Early Life and Training
From a young age, Awang Danda was deeply immersed in the traditional Tibetan costume-making techniques. At the age of 14, he began learning the art of Zaza costume tailoring under the guidance of his father, a skilled artisan in Comai County.
