About Mosque of Samzhubzê District
Mosque of Samzhubzê District is a key cultural relic protection unit at city (county) level, located at the Bangjiakong committee(帮佳孔) in Samzhubzê District, Shigatse. Originally built in 1343, it was built jointly by the Muslims from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Ningxia, and Gansu. It is the only mosque in Shigatse city. During the “Great Cultural Revolution” period it was severely damaged, it was put into a comprehensive maintenance in July 2001, now there is existing one scripture hall.
