Pu(普) means to dare; Yang(央) means tablets and stone tablets; Gangqin(岗钦) means heavy snow. So the whole name Puyang Gangqin means the people of the great snow-capped mountains who dare to fight. It is said that the locals have beaten the Tibetan government, hence the name. It is located on the west of Lhunzhub County, Lhasa. There are natural pasture and farmland at foothills. There are barley, wheat, rape and other crops; livestock such as yaks, sheep, goats, etc.
