Tudanlangjia Monastery(土丹朗喜寺)
The Tudanlangjia Monastery, also known as “Ren qinzi temple(仁钦孜寺)”, is located in the area of Xaitongmoin County, Xigaze, 3,950 meters above sea level. The monastery built close to the mountains, the scenery is beautiful. It was founded in 1425 which is the ancient monastery of Ningma(宁玛派). According to legend, early days monastery had dispute with Renqin zizong(仁钦孜宗), which led to the destruction of the monastery, only ruins remained.
About Tudanlangjia Monastery
The main building consists of main hall(大殿), Ganzhuer Hall(甘珠尔殿), Kaiyoula Kang(凯由拉康), Naijiula Kang(乃久拉康), Lacang(拉康), Segula Kang(色怙拉康), Langzela Kang(朗则拉康), etc.. The main hall drew chapters for Shakya Muni Buddha, jampa Buddha, Manjusri, four-armed Guanyin, White Tara, the Mother Buddha statue of Padmasambhava, and 80 India Dade , 30 bronze gilt Sagya monks.
Main Hall: four storeys high, the door faces the East. The first layer is composed of front porch, sutra hall, buddhist hall. There are 4 columns in the front porch area, apart from this, the porch wall was painted rock chart(六趣图), four longevity(四长寿图), and the four heavenly kings(四大天王像).
Ganzhuer Hall(甘珠尔殿): located in the south of the main hall. The door faces the north, in the hall there is a golden Shakya Muni Buddha statue, which is 1.5 meters high, and a silver pagoda statue, which is 3 meters high.
Kaiyoula Kang(凯由拉康): located in the west side of the main hall. The door faces the East. There are 4 main columns, and 20 gilted bronze statues of Buddha.
Naijiula Kang(乃久拉康): Located in the west of the main hall, placed sixteen Arhats clay statues, 0.2 meters high. As well as a 0.5 high Sakyamuni clay statue.
There are “ruyi embroidery cloth shoes(如意纹刺绣布鞋)” in the Tudanlangjia Monastery. This shoe is 29.5 cm long, 5.5 ~ 7.5 cm wide, with white bottom black uppers, and shallow waist, like boat shape, the shoe surface embroidered Ruyi lines(如意纹). It is said that the shoes were removed from the Buddha’s belly as a pair of cloth shoes worn by Xisongdezang(墀松德赞).
Attraction Transportation:
We can take a shuttle bus from Shigatse to Xaitongmoin County, then transfera local mini bus to Tudanlangjia Monastery.
