Shangri-La-Lhasa Flights

Travel between Shangri-La and Lhasa by flight is available for tourists, the distance between them is about 2201 km. Shangri-La, or former Zhongdian,  is the capital of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture located in the northwest of Yunnan Province. Various visitors come to Shangri-La to find the vivid landscape in the Lost Horizon. Usually, it is suggested to stay in this earthly paradise for several days. Travelers can spend one day immersing themselves in the wonderland of Pudacuo National Park, and spend another day exploring magnificent Meli Snow Mountain and Ganden Sumtseling Monastery. Lhasa (拉萨)is the holy land of Tibetan Buddhism, also famed as ‘the Sunshine City’ for its annual sunshine time. It is famous for Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka, etc.

Currently,  there is no railway between Shangri-La and Lhasa, taking a flight will be the easiest and quickest way to reach Lhasa from Shangri-La or Shangri-La from Lhasa. 

Shangri-La-Lhasa Flights Schedule

There are 2 flights from Shangri-La to Lhasa operated by Eastern Airlines, Southern Airlines, and 1  stopover flight operated by Tibet Airlines. It takes about 2 hours and 5 minutes for direct flights, and 5 hours 40 minutes for stopover flights flying from Shangri-la to Lhasa.

Lhasa-Shangri-La Flights Schedule 

There is 1  direct flight from Lhasa to Shangri-La operated by Eastern Airlines, and 2  stopover flights operated by China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Air China. It takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes for direct flights, and 6 hours 25 minutes for stopover flights flying from  to Lhasa to Shangri-la.
